Firelinx Did it at "Do
It"
WPA "DO IT" at MESQUITE
October 15, 2004
Firelinx
President David Russell participated in the
DoIt seminar on firing systems, displaying prototypes
of the new Firelinx Command Module and Firing
Modules to the attendees. The focus of the discussion
was to introduce the various types of systems,
including the WPA’s PyroMate manual system
as well as several other wireless remotes.
Mr. Russell explained the reasons why standard
wireless remotes are not appropriate for choreographed
show firing, that traditional wireless architectures
cannot guarantee that a cue will fire exactly
when it is supposed to. He then demonstrated
how Firelinx uses a new wireless radio and communications
system (patent pending) designed from the ground
up for wireless pyrotechnic choreography. The
short demo showed how several different independent
firing modules could work together to perform
split-second and simultaneous cue firing.
Later
that evening a short show choreographed to music
was fired entirely by the Firelinx system. While
the system is still under development, DoIt
provided a fertile ground for discussions with
potential customers that will impact the design
of the final system, and an additional opportunity
to fully test the latest revision of the Firelinx
hardware and software. The equipment performed
perfectly. Our thanks to all of the participants
who helped to set up and wire the demo.
