MAKING THE ROUNDS!
2005 Pyrotechnics Guild International

After introducing the Firelinx Reliable Wireless
firing system at the 8th International Symposium
on Fireworks in Japan, Firelinx President David
Russell along with Larry Mattingly, Jacqueline
Whedbee and Tom Walker set up shop for the first
time at the vendor exhibition at the 2005 Pyrotechnics
Guild International convention in Mason City,
Iowa.
The response from the attendees
was overwhelming. Everywhere you went, it seemed
the topic of discussion was Firelinx. While we
anticipated that this would primarily be our first
opportunity to educate the market on the benefits
of Reliable Wireless, the users responded with
several advance orders and a record number of
sales quotes generated.
We
are now in discussions with several display operators
and user groups who intend to do demonstration
shows at next year's PGI, and Firelinx will be
providing the systems to shoot the shows.
First Sale - Mike and
Donita Stephens
Firelinx and NFA
The National Fireworks Association
Expo in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin was the site for
Firelinx's latest vendor exhibition. This exhibition
focuses on display operators throughout the country,
and was attended by several firing system manufacturers
including Firelinx. As with PGI, the response
was exhilarating, with the booth literally being
swamped on the second day. While it was unfortunate
that a number of the demonstration shows suffered
delays and outages from firing system failures,
it did focus attention on our Reliable Wireless
technology and prompted many of the operators
to place orders or request large system quotes
and the use of additional equipment to fire next
year's demonstrations. We were happy to oblige.
Firelinx and Dr.
X
Labor Day weekend, 2005;
Cameron, MO:
Firelinx participated in the
Labor Day fireworks display of Michael Stephens,
associated with the Midwest Dr. X pyro group.
The show included, as usual, enough Dr. X special
salutes to make one's ears bleed, and plenty of
hand-fired shells. This year, Firelinx added some
choreographed effects to the show, most notably
a superbly timed train wreck effect that ended
in three 5-Gallon Creamora mines. Mike said, "I
must have gotten 300 great comments about the
train wreck. They loved it. At first the crowd
couldn't believe it - they thought we'd killed
the crew back there." We'll be back next year.
Mike's already pre-ordered a system. Special thanks
to Curtis and Patsy Thompson for their help with
the show.
