Western Winter Blast 2005

The Western Pyrotechnics Association
(WPA) WinterBlast is an excellent opportunity
for pyros on the West coast (and some from all
over the US and Canada) to get together and
try new things. Firelinx uses WinterBlast each
year as an opportunity to talk to customers
and to test the current revision of the product.
The Firelinx Reliable Wireless
system has been in research and development
for almost three years now. We have produced
and tested a number of revised systems until
we got the right combination of power and features,
at an affordable price.
The
first and second pictures shows David Russell
(Firelinx President) holding our Rev 1 Command
Module. This version had a smaller LCD screen
and only one radio system built in. This is
where we found that size does matter when it
comes to displays, and that daylight readability
is an important feature.
By
WWB 2005, we were testing our Rev 2 Firing modules,
shown in the next photos. These performed very
well, indeed. The test shot shown in the last
photo was 32 simultaneous mortars, one off each
cue output. Even though they were only small
shells, the simultaneous lift was so instantaneous
it actually startled the safety officer.
Since WWB 2005 we have advanced to Revision
4 of the Firing Module, Revision 3 of the
Command Module, and introduced our latest
- the Firefly (4-cue) FX module. More fun
and testing will be done at WWB 2006, so come
and see us
