Durability
"Over
the years I've had to replace my share of switches.
The firing ones are pretty good, but the simple
ones like the power switches on the panel seem
to wear out first. What can you do about that?
Then the other thing is the harness connector
to the distribution box. We're always dropping
things in the mud, and then it's pure hell trying
to get it cleaned out for a good connection.
Then you break a pin, and it's done for."
"ZeroSwitch"
technology has no switches or other moving
parts to wear, foul, or fail. Firelinx Firing
Modules are built from 100% solid-state components.
Switches fail eventually, as do any mechanical
parts. Firelinx uses proximity switches -
solid-state devices that can detect the user's
finger coming near the sensor. When connectors
are necessary we use only the best -- gold
or stainless steel -- built for years of harsh
use and wear. The main connector on the firing
module is the only one in the industry that's
user-replaceable on site.
